This Privacy Policy explains how Deniz Şafak (“we”, “us”, “our”), the developer of Morbox, handles information when you use the Morbox mobile app (“App”). A Turkish translation is available at Gizlilik Politikası (Türkçe). Where the two versions conflict, the Turkish version prevails for users in Türkiye and the English version prevails for everyone else.
In short
- Morbox works on your device. It has no accounts, and we operate no servers that receive your files or any data about how you use the App.
- We do not collect usage statistics or crash reports from the App.
- Some features use Google services (maps, text recognition, background removal, and document scanning); Section 3 lists them.
The data controller is Deniz Şafak, Türkiye. You can contact us at morboxapp@gmail.com.
Files you select, convert, scan, or create are processed on your device. We operate no servers that receive your files, and the App has no user accounts. Your settings, preferences, game scores, and the last map view in the map tool are stored on your device. You can delete this local data by clearing the App’s data or uninstalling the App. “Reset all settings” in Settings also erases it, including the stored map view.
The App incorporates third-party software libraries and open-source packages. You can view the list of third-party libraries and their licenses directly in the App under Settings → Licenses.
The table below summarizes the third-party services and SDKs used by certain features of the App. The links lead to each provider’s own documentation; details for the Google services follow the table.
| Service | Purpose | Provider documentation |
|---|---|---|
| Google Maps Platform (Maps SDK for Android) | Drawing the map and supporting measurements in the GPS Field Distance & Area Measure tool, including centering the map when you tap “My location” | Android data disclosure; Google Privacy Policy; Google Maps Platform terms |
| Google ML Kit | On-device text recognition, background removal, and document scanning | ML Kit terms; ML Kit Android data disclosure |
| Google Play | Distribution of the App and, if you have chosen to share usage and diagnostics data on your device, crash and performance reports that Google makes available to us | Android vitals help; Google Privacy Policy |
| Google Play services | System components and ML model downloads used by some features | Google Privacy Policy |
| GitHub | Hosting the Privacy Policy and Terms text shown in the App | GitHub Privacy Statement |
| Device OS services | Completing QR-code actions you tap (contacts, calendar, maps, dialer, mail, Wi-Fi); these are handled by your device’s operating system or another app | Governed by your operating system vendor’s privacy policy |
Google Maps (GPS Field Distance & Area Measure tool). When you open the map, Google’s Maps SDK receives technical information such as your IP address, request and device information, crash and diagnostic data, and map interaction data for the area shown, as described in Google’s Maps SDK for Android data disclosure. We do not receive this data. If you tap “My location” and grant the location permission, the App reads your position once to center the map (it does not track your location continuously or in the background). We do not receive it, but because the map is then centered on your position, Google can infer your location from the map data it serves. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Google ML Kit (text recognition, background removal, document scanning). These features process your images and documents on your device. The ML Kit software may send limited technical and diagnostic information to Google, as described in ML Kit’s data disclosures linked in the table above.
Google Play. If you have chosen to share usage and diagnostics data with Google on your Android device, Google may make crash and performance reports about the App available to us through Google Play. We do not control this data collection. It is governed by your device settings and the Google Privacy Policy.
Google Play services. Some features use Google Play services, which operate under the Google Privacy Policy.
Independent operation of third-party services. We operate no servers that receive your files, map requests, or diagnostics. For the third-party services listed in the table above, data collection and processing occur directly between your device and the respective provider (such as Google or GitHub) under that provider’s own privacy policy and terms. We do not control their collection methods, do not combine their data with personal identifiers, and do not receive individual user logs from them.
The App has no ads and no paid subscriptions at the moment. If we add them in the future (for example Google AdMob or in-app purchases), we will update this policy and, where the law requires, ask for your consent.
Morbox is for people aged 13 or older, or the higher minimum age in your country. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, contact us.
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU and UK under the GDPR, or in Türkiye under the KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority (in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Board). Under Article 11 of the KVKK you can also learn whether your data is processed, request information about it, and claim compensation for unlawful processing. To make a request, email morboxapp@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy Request”. We will respond within the time required by law. Because the App works on your device and has no accounts, we generally hold no personal data about you. For data held by Google for the map and other Google features, see Google’s privacy information linked above.
We may update this policy. The “Last Updated” date above shows the current version, and the App always shows the latest text.
